News and Notes From Your Eldorado Farmers’ Market Team

The brief rain shower we had last week was refreshing, and thankfully, not too long. It was nice to see customers out and about during the brief storm, picking out their veggies, eggs, baked goods, meats, and other goodies while enjoying the sounds and sights around them. We are thankful that our community shows such wonderful support for our market and all the vendors that make it a great place to be on Fridays.

Pollo Real is back this week with Processed fresh chickens (whole & cut up), chicken and turkey broth, green Chile/garlic turkey sausage, & ground turkey breast. Welcome back, Tom! We missed you!

Daniel from Red Barn Ranch sent the following message: “Red Barn Ranch beef is going fast, but should still have hamburger, & maybe a couple of other cuts. Also taking reservations on 1/4 cow bundles for August.” Thanks for the heads up, Daniel!

The Santa Fe Jewish Center – Chabad will be with us this week. Their Challah bread is a crowd favorite and sells out fast.

Last week Patricia from Mud Pie Arts Pottery returned to the market. If you didn’t come to the market or did, but didn’t get a chance to visit her stall, make sure you do this week. Beautiful pieces of work.

This week we welcome Shelley Denton with Thyme Matters who will be selling soaps made with oils and dried flowers, scented wax sachets with dried flowers, potted plants and herbs, hand dyed tea towels and throws, and candles with dried flowers, and cut flowers for sale. The products are grown and/or made at her home in Nambe.

Dyan from La Capilla Farm wrote in to let us know that they will have raspberries available this week!

Alex from Revolution Farm writes in to say “This week we will have Little Gem Mini Romaine Heads, Petite Lettuce Mix, Hakurei Salad Turnips, Garlic Scapes, Shunkyo Radishes, Kale Trio, and maybe some other surprises. Also, $20 produce boxes are available for pre order and pickup during market.” Thanks, Alex! Your mini romaine heads are my new favorite! Perfect for making a single serve salad for lunch or dinner. No waste, either! For more info on Alex’s pre-order produce boxes, check his website, www.revolution-farm.com. Alex, we at Bienvenidos Outreach were touched when we saw on your website the following: “You may also choose to purchase a box for donation to the food pantry at Bienvenidos Outreach on 5th St. in Santa Fe.”

Thank you so much for thinking of us! It’s a great way to get the freshest produce to our families. And to anyone who decides to participate, thank you, too! What a great way to make a difference in someone’s life.

Santa Fe Jerky returns this week with their wonderful jerky and beef sticks! It’s a lovely snack to enjoy anytime, anywhere. Stopping for a beer at the tap room? Enjoy some jerky or sticks with your brew!

For a list of vendors for this week, please see below. (And remember, you never know who else will show up!)

Just as a reminder, here are the current rules we are following at the market. As restrictions ease up, rules will change.

  • The Hot Dog Stand will sell to-go items only.

Weekly Raffle Update

Instead of the weekly raffle, which is on hold until further notice, don’t be surprised if a market volunteer comes up to you (well, at least 6 feet from you!) and gives you an Eldorado Farmers’ Market coupon to spend at the market! It’s our way of saying thanks for coming to the market.

WE HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR TIME AT THE MARKET!

“See you at the Market”
